A spokesman for the Saudi finance ministry said the kingdom and Turkey are discussing depositing $5 billion in Turkey's central bank.

"We are in the final stage of negotiations to deposit $5 billion with the Central Bank of Turkey," the spokesman told Reuters.

Turkey's central bank has concluded local currency swap deals with several of its counterparts worth a total of $28 billion, and Turkey has signed a deal with China worth $6 billion, with Qatar for $15 billion, and with the UAE for about $5 billion.
