BlackRock’s Fink considers moving World Economic Forum from Davos

Senior executives at the World Economic Forum (WEF) are considering whether to change the location of the organization’s flagship annual meeting from its traditional venue in Davos, according to the Financial Times.

Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock and interim co-chair of the WEF’s governing board, has privately discussed options that include permanently relocating the summit or using different venues on a rotational basis.

Detroit and Dublin are among the potential alternative locations that have been discussed for the high-profile gathering.

The discussions stem from concerns that the event has outgrown its traditional Swiss Alpine setting. Fink reportedly aims to reshape the forum and expand access beyond the current circle of political and business leaders who typically attend.

The WEF’s annual meeting in Davos has long been considered one of the most prestigious gatherings of global elites, bringing together heads of state, corporate executives, and other influential figures to discuss global economic issues.
