In the first two months of 2025, China’s car sales experienced a slight increase of 1.3% compared to the same period in the previous year.
This uptick in sales is attributed to an expanded customer subsidy program that has boosted demand for automobiles, while a price war in the new smart electric vehicle market is simultaneously taking place.
According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Monday, sales of passenger vehicles surged by 26.1% year-on-year to 1.41 million units in February.
This increase follows a decline of 12% in January. The fluctuation in sales indicates the dynamic nature of China’s auto market, influenced by various factors including customer subsidy programs and competitive pricing in the electric vehicle sector.
