Qatar pledged a total financial contribution of US $60 million to support the activities and outcomes of the Doha work programme for LDCs at the opening of the Fifth United Nations Conference on LDCs.
Launched on Sunday in Doha until March 9, the conference provides an opportunity for LDCs to meet and discuss the adoption of the Doha Work Programme, based on lessons learned from the implementation of the previous Istanbul Work Programme.
The Conference is a platform for discussing and addressing current challenges, an opportunity for international support and strengthening partnerships to achieve transformative change capable of addressing long-term inequalities and marginalization in order to be able to move towards sustainable development.
